Dieter Dietz

, Arch. Dipl. EPFZ, Associate Professeur, Head of ALICE:

Educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (Architecture Degree 1991), Dieter Dietz also studied at the Cooper Union in New York with Diller/Scofidio. in 1997, after working with Diane Lewis Architects, New York, and Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, he founded, with partner architect Urs Egg, UNDEND Architecture, a Zurich based architectural practice with award winning entries in national and international competitions. Currently he is building up dieterdietz.org, a firm engaged in projects in urban design, media and architecture. From 1996 to 1999, he taught as Junior Faculty with Prof. Marc Angélil at ETH Zurich. Since 2006 he is Associate Professor for Architectural Design at EPFL, Lausanne, and director of the ALICE laboratory in the ENAC faculty. He collaborates with the ALICE team on research projects at diverse scales with labs inside and outside EPFL. His teaching activities include the direction of the first year architectural design course as well as projects at master and thesis level.

Vincent Mermod

, Arch. Dipl. EPFL:

Educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (MSc. in Architecture 2011), Vincent worked as an intern for Playze Berlin (2007), Playze Shanghai (2007-2008) and Herzog & de Meuron (2008-2009). He is working at dieterdietz.org since 2012. He collaborates with the ALICE team and the UE DD+P team on the fabrication of research projects at diverse scales using CAD/CAM/CNC tools. 

Manuel Potterat

, Arch. Dipl. EPFL:

Educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (MSc. in Architecture 2011), Manuel worked as an intern for Esposito+Javet (2007), Brauen+Wälchli (2008-2009), Losinger (2010) and Harry Gugger (2012). He is working at dieterdietz.org since 2012. He successfully obtained a Minor in Civil Engineering in 2011.

Francois Nantermod

, Arch. Ing. EPFL:

Educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (MSc. in Architecture 2013), François also studied at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and worked as a teaching assistant at the ALICE studio at the EPFL (2011-2013). He accomplished his internship at EM2N (2010-2011), collaborated with several firms in Switzerland, and worked for DSDHA in London.

Guillaume Othenin-Girard

, Arch. Ing. EPFL:

Educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Guillaume Othenin-Girard also studied at the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York, at the Istanbul Technical University, as well as at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne. In 2010, he had the opportunity to extend the field of his research in Japan and Mongolia.

Valeria Zamora Marco

, Arch. Ing. EPFL:

Valeria Zamora studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Msc. In Architecture 2013) and at Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain (Arch Degree 2014). Valeria collaborated with the ALICE team in 2013.
